Only she knows what happened.
Only I can make her speak.
Slick, Cleverly constructed Psychological Thriller, definitely one to watch in 2019
Due for Publication: February 2019. Publisher: Orion
Firstly many thanks to the publisher for an arc.
Alice Berenson has been remanded into The Grove psychiatric unit following her conviction for the murder of her husband, however, Alice refuses to speak. After 6 years Theo Faber believes he can make Alice speak and so begins a psychological thriller of the highest quality. To give any more of the plot detail away would be to spoil this unique read for others.
Prepare yourself to go on a rollercoaster of a journey. Debut novels should’nt be this good, It is another of those once you start you won’t be able to put down, you have to keep turning the pages and reading to see where the story is going to take you and where it goes blew my mind, totally unexpected and not something I was prepared for.
The characterisations are all spot on, the pacing, well as the pages turn, the author has a knack for ratcheting up the suspense levels, the plotting and storytelling is a masterclass of psychological writing.
I have to be honest and say I am not a massive fan of psychological thrillers, but when the writing and story are as good as this it is impossible not to fully immerse yourself into the book and daily life’s of the characters. One that will stay with me for some time.
This is one you will not want to miss in 2019, highly recommend and I cannot wait to be able to add the hardback to my collection.
Major feature film written all over it.
